Inverter and battery backup installation in Pretoria East

Backup power without solar panels. An inverter and batteries that charge from the grid and keep the essentials on when it drops.

Not everyone wants panels on the roof. Sometimes you just need the Wi-Fi, the lights and the TV to stay on when the power goes, and a battery backup system does exactly that. It charges from the grid while the power is on and takes over when it goes off.

The part people underestimate is the wiring. The inverter needs its own essentials sub board, the right protection, and a bypass switch so you can keep the house running if the inverter ever needs work. We install all of that, and we also check and repair systems someone else put in.

What people call us about

Jobs we get called for

  • New inverter and battery installs

Mounted, connected and set up for how your household uses power.

  • Essentials sub board

The circuits you want on backup moved onto their own board.

  • Change-over and bypass switches

So you can switch the house back to the grid if the inverter is down.

  • Systems that are not working right

Inverters that trip, batteries that run flat early, or a backup that does not kick in.

How we set up a backup system

  1. 1

We decide with you which circuits must stay on. Lights, plugs, Wi-Fi, the gate motor, the alarm.

  2. 2

We size the inverter and batteries for those loads, and choose a spot that is ventilated and easy to get to.

  3. 3

We wire the essentials sub board, the protection and the bypass switch, and connect the inverter.

  4. 4

We test a switch-over, then show you how it works and what the display is telling you.

FAQ

Common questions

What is a bypass switch for?

It lets you send grid power straight to your essential circuits, skipping the inverter. If the inverter ever fails or needs servicing, you flip it and the house keeps running.

Someone else installed my inverter. Can you check it?

Yes. We do system checks and fault finding on existing installations, including ones we did not put in.

Can I run my geyser off the inverter?

Generally it is not a good idea. A geyser draws a lot of power and will drain the batteries fast. Most systems leave it on the grid.
