New electrical installations and rewiring in Pretoria East

Building, renovating or adding on? We wire it so it works, it is safe, and it still makes sense to the next electrician who opens it.

New electrical work is easiest to get right at the start, before the plaster goes on and the tiles go down. Whether it is a full house, a new kitchen, an extra room or a shop being fitted out, the planning of where the points go and how the circuits are split makes a bigger difference than most people expect.

We do domestic and commercial installations, from adding a couple of plug points to wiring or rewiring a whole building. Where an older house needs rewiring, we can work room by room so you are not without power for longer than necessary.

What people call us about

Jobs we get called for

  • Full house wiring and rewiring

New builds, and older homes where the original cable is worn out.

  • Extra plug, switch and light points

More plugs in the kitchen, a light in the passage, a switch where it should have been.

  • Renovations and extensions

Wiring for the new room or flatlet, and a sub board where it needs one.

  • Shop and office fit-outs

Commercial wiring for new tenants, layouts and equipment.

How we plan an installation

  1. 1

We walk through the space with you and talk about how you will use it. Where the TV goes, what goes on the kitchen counter, what you want switched from where.

  2. 2

We work out the circuits and whether your existing DB board can take the extra load or needs a sub board.

  3. 3

We do the wiring while the walls and ceilings are open, and coordinate with your builder so nobody is waiting on anyone.

  4. 4

We fit and test everything at the end, and label the board so you know which breaker does what.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you work alongside my builder?

Yes. On renovations and new builds we fit in with the builder's programme, so the wiring is done before the walls are closed up.

How do I know if my house needs rewiring?

Signs include old rubber or cloth insulated cable, frequent tripping, warm plugs, and a board full of old style fuses. We can inspect the installation and tell you honestly whether it needs a full rewire or just some sections replaced.

Do I need a COC after new electrical work?

We issue a Certificate of Compliance on completion where the work calls for it. Ask us when you get your quote and we will tell you what applies to your job.
